SensorMicro, an innovative infrared technology brand of GUIDE INFRARED, announced the completion of its full portfolio of 8μm uncooled thermal camera cores. Powered by the company's proprietary ApexCore infrared detector platform, the new lineup includes the iTL1208, iTL608, MICO608, and iHA608W, offering OEM customers a comprehensive range of thermal imaging solutions optimized for different integration requirements.
The launch reflects SensorMicro's continued investment in detector innovation and system miniaturization. As demand grows for thermal imaging systems with lower size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements, the new 8μm product family enables manufacturers to build lighter, more compact, and more energy-efficient devices without compromising imaging performance.
Compared with larger pixel technologies, the 8μm platform reduces detector size and optical dimensions while improving system integration flexibility. Under the same lens configuration, higher spatial sampling allows finer image detail and improved target recognition. Combined with optimized manufacturing processes, the technology also helps lower system costs, making advanced thermal imaging accessible to a broader range of applications.

The flagship iTL1208 uncooled IR camera core brings megapixel thermal imaging into a remarkably compact package. Built around a 1280 × 1024 ApexCore IR detector with an 8μm pixel size, the module measures only 22.6 × 22.6mm in cross-section and weighs 34.5g, including a standard 12mm lens. Despite its compact dimensions, the iTL1208 delivers four times the pixel count of conventional 640 × 512 thermal cores, enabling higher image detail, longer detection distances, and improved temperature measurement performance. Multiple chalcogenide lens options, ranging from 5mm to 75mm, provide flexibility for applications requiring both wide-area coverage and long-range observation.

For applications where SWaP optimization is the highest priority, SensorMicro introduces the iTL608, an ultra-miniature thermal camera core measuring only 13 × 13 × 19.5mm and weighing just 6.4g with its 6mm lens. Typical power consumption is as low as 0.4 W, allowing longer operating time for battery-powered devices.

Despite its small footprint, the module supports multiple standard interfaces and a range of lens configurations, making it well suited for compact handheld devices, wearable equipment, mobile platforms, and other space-constrained systems.

To further simplify thermal imaging integration, SensorMicro also launched the MICO608, a cost-optimized camera core designed for high-volume OEM applications. Leveraging the manufacturing advantages of the company's 8μm detector technology, the module delivers high-quality 640 × 512 thermal imaging while reducing core component costs. Support for CVBS, USB 2.0, and MIPI video outputs, together with multiple standardized connector options, allows faster product development and easier integration across embedded vision platforms. The availability of 3.2mm, 6mm, and 8.7mm germanium-free lenses also helps improve supply chain flexibility and reduce material dependency.

Beyond industrial and commercial imaging, SensorMicro continues expanding thermal technology into healthcare applications with the new iHA608W thermal camera core. Featuring a 640 × 512, 8μm infrared detector, a dedicated 4mm medical lens, and optimized temperature measurement algorithms, the module is designed to capture accurate thermal data for non-contact health monitoring.

A plug-and-play USB Type-C interface enables driver-free installation, while support for secondary temperature calibration helps improve measurement accuracy. The product has also successfully completed key medical-related compliance testing, including ESD electrostatic discharge and radiated emission evaluations.

Completing a full portfolio of 8μm thermal camera cores represents an important milestone in SensorMicro's product roadmap. Rather than introducing a single product, SensorMicro have developed a complete family of thermal imaging solutions that enables customers to select the most suitable platform for their application, whether the priority is higher resolution, extreme miniaturization, simplified integration, or specialized thermal imaging.
The launch of the complete 8μm camera core family demonstrates SensorMicro's commitment to advancing infrared detector technology while helping OEM customers accelerate product development. Building on ApexCore infrared detectors, the company will continue expanding its portfolio with next-generation thermal imaging solutions that deliver higher performance, lower SWaP, and greater integration flexibility for emerging infrared applications.
